Course overview

Direct Routing is where Teams voice projects succeed or fail. This course goes deep on SBC requirements, routing logic, media optimisation and regulatory requirements such as Location-Based Routing.

We also cover Operator Connect: how it differs operationally from Direct Routing, and how to choose between the two (or combine them) for multinational deployments.

Who this course is for

  • Teams voice engineers
  • SBC engineers
  • Architects designing global Teams voice

Prerequisites

  • Teams Phone fundamentals
  • SIP & VoIP Fundamentals

Training duration

14 h video + 16 h labs, about 4 weeks at 6–8 hours per week.

What you will be able to do

  • Design Direct Routing for single and multi-tenant (carrier/hosting) scenarios
  • Configure SBC pairing, failover and voice routing policies
  • Implement media bypass and Local Media Optimisation
  • Implement Location-Based Routing for regulated countries
  • Compare and deploy Operator Connect
  • Troubleshoot Direct Routing with SIP traces and the health dashboard
